# Deposit limit

The vaults take up to 250,000 USDC in total at launch. That's the deposit limit.

It rises by 250,000 USDC whenever deployed capital has been at or above 60% of deposits for one full cycle of 27 days. It never goes down, and Eiva may raise it sooner. In short, the limit rises as deployment grows.

Why there's a limit: interest is owed on every deposited dollar, but fees are only earned on deployed dollars. Keeping deposits in step with the invoices we can fund keeps the rate covered.

Capacity is the limit minus the principal of every active note. Compounded interest counts as principal, so it uses capacity like a new deposit. The app and the ledger show it. Open can take up to 25% of the limit, 62,500 USDC at launch; the 6 and 12 month vaults share the rest. When there's no capacity left, the vaults show Full.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.eiva.money/deposit-limit.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
