# Where the yield goes

Each funded invoice earns a fee agreed per invoice, \[6.7% of face value: Alpha] on average so far, taken when the payer settles. The vaults' income is that fee plus what idle USDC earns in \[idle venue: Alpha]. It's applied in this order:

1. Depositors' interest, at the fixed rate for each note
2. The first loss reserve, until it holds 3% of principal outstanding
3. Half to the reserve and half to Eiva, until the reserve holds 10%
4. Above 10%, released to Eiva at the end of each month \[Alpha and solicitor to confirm]

Net fees means income after depositors' interest. Principal outstanding means the principal of every active note, across all vaults.

Over a 27 day planning cycle, the fee on a funded invoice comfortably covers the interest owed on the capital behind it. The difference builds the reserve and then pays Eiva. The memorandum sets out the arithmetic.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.eiva.money/where-the-yield-goes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
